The Scientific Committee on State Administration, Judiciary and the Rule of Law of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, chaired by Prof. emeritus Jakša Barbić, F.C.A., in cooperation with the Adriatic Institute, organises the Round Table – The Legal Protection of the Sea, to be held on the 23rd of November 2016 in the large hall of the Academy Palace in Zagreb, Zrinski Square, no. 11, starting at 10 AM.

The discussion will be based on the following introductory lectures:

1. Dr. sc. Marijan Ahel (et al.), Institute Ruđer Bošković: “Natural features and the quality of the environment and the problems of the protection of the Adriatic Sea” 

2. Prof. dr. sc. Maja Seršić, Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb: “Development of the international law on the protection of marine environment and the current issues”

3. Prof. dr. sc. Dorotea Ćorić, Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka: “The legal regimes of liability for pollution from maritime objects”

4. Lukša Čičovački, dipl. ing., Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure: “Administrative control of application and implementation of the national and international rules on the protection of marine environment” 

5. Doc. dr. sc. Adriana Vincenca Padovan, Adriatic Institute: “The relevance of marine insurance in the protection of marine environment”
