The International Maritime and Transport Law Conference – Transport Law De Lege Ferenda was held at the Inter University Centre in Dubrovnik from 3rd to 6th September 2025. The conference was organized by the Croatian Maritime Law Association and the Faculty of Law in Rijeka.
It gathered distinguished speakers from the international academic community, law firms, and legal professionals from the maritime industry, who discussed numerous issues and analyzed existing solutions, the challenges brought by technological development, and the requirements for sustainability in the maritime industry.
Dr. Adriana Vincenca Padovan, a member of the Adriatic Institute, delivered a presentation titled “Executing (Re)Insurance in the London Market: A Croatian Law Perspective – (How) Have Digital Platforms, E-documents and E-Signatures Changed the Old Rules?“. She also moderated the session entitled “International Maritime Law and Law of the Sea“, which featured presentations by Prof. Axel Luttenberger, who addressed the regulatory approach to air pollution originating from vessels, Prof. Massimiliano Musi, who discussed the work of the CMI on international regulation of mobile offshore renewable units and Dr. Julia Constantino Chagas Lessa, who analyzed the concept of the flag state jurisdiction.
