Announcement of the “Recovery of Wrecks and Sunken Objects and the Handling of Abandoned Vessels” Workshop, Split, 2 July 2026

The Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work in Split, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, are organizing the workshop “Recovery of Wrecks and Sunken Objects and the Handling of Abandoned Vessels”.

The workshop will be held in Split, at the hall of the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Milesi Palace), on 2 July 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m. and scheduled to last until 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be conducted by researchers from the Adriatic Institute, Vesna Skorupan Wolff, PhD and Adriana Vincenca Padovan, PhD.

The workshop is primarily intended for employees of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and harbour master’s offices, but it will also be useful for operators of special purpose ports (marinas, shipyards, sports ports, etc.), port authorities, local government units, and persons responsible for the management of the maritime domain at the county level.
