VIII International Conference on Transport: Transport Faced with the Challenges of Technological Development and Globalization, was held in Benicàssim (Castellon/Spain) from 28 to 30 September 2022. The Conference is traditionally organised by the Institute for Transport Law of the Jaume I University, Castellon under the directorship of Prof. Dr. Maria-Victoria Petit-Lavall and Prof. Dr. Achim Puetz.
The Conference is based on lectures given by renowned academics and practitioners, round tables, and paper sessions. There is traditionally a strong interest in combining the presence of academics, professionals from the field of transport as well as members of public agencies with competence in transport matters. This is a highly esteemed academic event attended by the leading academics and practitioners from the field of maritime and transport law predominantly from Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France but also from other European countries.
It was with great honour that Dr. Adriana Padovan participated as an invited speaker at the Round table on automation of transport and liability together with Prof. Dr. Vincent Correia Full Professor of International Public Law (Université Paris-Saclay), Prof. Dr. María José Morillas Jarillo, Full Professor of Commercial Law (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Prof. Dr. Massimiliano Piras, Full Professor of Maritime Law (Università degli Studi di Cagliari), and Prof. Dr. Iñaki Zurutuza Arigita, Professor of Commercial Law (Universidad Pública de Navarra). The round table was chaired by Prof. Dr. María Jesús Guerrero Lebrón, Full Professor of Commercial Law (Universidad Pablo de Olavide).
In her speech, Dr. Padovan dealt with the topic of seaworthiness in the context of marine insurance in view of the technological developments in maritime transport.
