On November 15, 2021, dr.sc. Božena Bulum participated in an interview which aims to present the successful careers of scientists in the field of so-called blue economy that includes the promotion, conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal ecosystems, the prevention of marine pollution and the increasing economic benefits to small island and developing countries from the sustainable use of marine resources.
The research is conducted within the Erasmus project SEA-EU-Doc of the University of Split promoting postgraduate education and harmonize the skills of the future scientists with the needs of industry and the economy. Partners in this project are also the University of Brest, the University of Kiel, the University of Gdańsk and the University of Cadiz.
Speaking about her career path dr.Bulum presented the Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, where she has been employed for the last fifteen years. The role that the Institute has played, since its establishment in the creation of maritime legislation and the development of maritime law was emphasised. Dr. Bulum also mentioned eminent Croatian scientists (Prof. V. Brajković, Prof. B. Jakaš, Prof. B. Kojić, Prof. V. Đ. Degan, Prof. J. Barbić) directors of the Adriatic Institute. She also referred to her most important publications and collaborations with domestic and foreign scientists.
All interviews will be included in the catalogue of doctors of science in the field of blue economy at the level of SEA-EU alliance and thus disseminated at the level of the alliance and the future online alumni network of doctors of science of blue economy that is being developed within the project.
