Croatian Parliament ratified the Hong Kong Convention for the safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships of 2009 on 15 December 2020. As an EU Member State, Croatia acted in accordance with the Council Decision of 14 April 2014 concerning the ratification of, or the accession to, the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009, by the Member States in the interests of the European Union (2014/241/EU).
The ratification of the Hong Kong Convention by the Republic of Croatia should speed up the process of entry into force of the Convention on the international level.
