Comparative Maritime Law (hereinafter: CML) is an open access journal. The CC BY-ND (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0/deed.en) licence allows for redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit given to the authors. The full text materials can be downloaded and redistributed, paying due regard to attribution by giving appropriate credit to the authors and the publisher, and by providing references according to the customary rules of citation. The materials may not be modified, transformed, or built upon.

The financial structure of the journal is non-profit. Authors are not charged publication fees, and no author fees are paid.

Authors of categorised articles receive one (1) copy of the journal for free.

Upon the publication of an article in the journal, the publisher becomes the owner of the printed and electronic versions of the article, unconditionally acquiring all rights for reproduction, distribution, and public communication, as well as the right to profit from these actions.

The journal exclusively publishes articles that have not been previously published and are not in the process of being published elsewhere.

For articles accepted for publication or already published in CML, authors may publish them in other publications only with permission of the editorial board, and, in such cases, a clear indication of their prior publication in CML is required.
