Organized by the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split, in cooperation with the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport in Portorož and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU), the 11th International Conference on Maritime Science was held in Split on 8-9 May 2025.
Three researchers from the Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts presented their work at the Conference.
Dr. Vesna Skorupan Wolff, Head of the Adriatic Institute and a member of the Conference Organizing Committee, presented her poster titled “Comparative Analysis of Presumptions for the Application of Certain Systems of Liability for Loss of Life and Personal Injury to Swimmers and Other Persons in the Sea with Special Reference to the System of Liability for Damage Caused by Waterborne Craft.”
Dr. Božena Bulum, in co-authorship with Associate Professor Dr. Marija Pijaca, gave a presentation on “Current European Union Tax Incentives Arising from Application of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System – Challenges for Croatian Shipping Industry.”
Dr. Adriana Vincenca Padovan delivered a presentation on “Rethinking Compulsory Liability Insurance for Boaters in Croatian Waters,” and also served as a member of the Conference’s Scientific and Program Committee.
These papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, published by the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
