Irena Nišević, LL.M., has publicly defended the topic of her doctoral dissertation titled ”Protection of the Marine Environment in Relation to International Armed Conflicts” on April 9th, 2024. Assistant Nišević is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, course: International Law and Private International Law.
The evaluation committee was constituted of three members: Full Professor Maja Seršić, Ph.D., the president of the committee, Assistant Professor Trpimir Mihael Šošić, Ph.D., the mentor and Full Professor Vesna Barić-Punda, Ph.D., the external member of the committee. After having presented her topic in duration of 15 minutes, Assistant Nišević has been answering the questions set up by the committee which than unanimously declared that the topic was successfully defended.
Following this step, Assistant Nišević continues to write her doctoral dissertation and is getting closer to the final step of gaining the academic degree of Doctor of Science. The Adriatic Institute supports the tradition of research of topics from the field of the law of the sea and congratulates colleague Nišević on her achievement.
