The Maritime Law Association of the United States will host the 42nd International Conference of the Comité Maritime International in New York, from 3rd till 6th of May 2016. The conference has been convened by the CMI mainly to reach consensus on proposed revisions to the York-Antwerp Rules relating to General Average and to discuss proposed CMI Guidelines on General Average – for submission to the New York Assembly of the CMI.
This will also be an opportunity for a traditional gathering of the maritime lawyers from around the world and the shipping industry players. The various working committees of the CMI and the MLA US will hold joint sessions to share knowledge and experience in the most pressing issues of modern shipping law.
