AMLC 2022 is the fifth in a series of conferences traditionally co-organized by the national Maritime Law Associations of Italy, Slovenia and Croatia since 2016. The Conference is organized alternately in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia every two years. This year’s host was the Croatian Maritime Law Association and the Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts participated as a co-organizer of the Conference. The venue of 5th AMLC was in Pula.
During the ceremonial session of the Assembly of the Croatian Maritime Law Association which was held prior to the opening of the Conference, the President of the Croatian Maritime Law Association, Gordan Stanković, Ph.D., presented the Award to the Adriatic Institute in gratitude for many years of fruitful cooperation and significant contribution to the development and study of Maritime Law (for more information on the Award please visit the following link).
The opening ceremony consisted of introductory speeches held by the Presidents of the three Maritime Law Associations Giorgio Berlingieri, Boris Jerman and Gordan Stanković followed by a special video message by Ann Fenech, the Vice-President of the Comité Maritime International.
The Conference was attended by more than sixty participants from Croatia, Italy, Malta, Montenegro and Slovenia. Among them, the employees of the Adriatic Institute took an active role as well.
The manager of the Adriatic Institute Vesna Skorupan Wolff, Ph.D., presented a new book of Petar Kragić, Ph.D., Associate Professor Adriana Vincenca Padovan, Ph.D. and Božena Bulum, Ph.D. held their presentations on current maritime law issues and alongwith Irena Nišević, LL.M., participated as members of the Organizing Committee of the Conference.
The next Conference is planned for 2024 and will take place in Italy.
